My science fiction romance novel The Dream of an Ancient God has just been released by Audible. It's fantastically narrated by Teresa Willis of Audio Alchemy.

Just Published - The House at the Center of the Worlds

I've just published a new novella, The House at the Center of the Worlds.

The book was inspired by a dream I had last year. Originally, it was going to be a completely different story, more faithful to the dream. Originally, it was going to be a Young Adult science fiction adventure story, with time travel, black holes and starships and such. But once I had the original story plotted, I didn't really like it and couldn't  motive myself to start writing it. So I started shifting things around, and somehow, it turned into the sort of supernatural, haunted house, ghost story romance that it is now. About the only thing that remains of the original dream and idea is the house and its passages to alternate realities.

New audiobook released - Snowybrook Inn: Book Two

The audiobook of Snowybrook Inn: Book Two has just been released by Audible. Should be available on Amazon and iTunes in a few days. Scot Wilcox gives a great performance on the narration.

All the Snowybrook Inn books feature short stories that are pretty much self-contained, so you won't miss anything crucial if you read or listen to the books out of order.

Just Published - The Newer New Revelations

I've just published a new As-I'm-Reading-It Response book, The Newer New Revelations, with God Himself as my co-author ;) This one covers The New Revelations by Neale Donald Walsch.

It's available exclusively on Amazon now, and should be available in paperback in a few days.

Just Published - Death to Einstein!

Just published a short new non-fiction book, Death to Einstein!, that’s sure to cement my place in the annals of crackpot history. Arguments against relativity and in favor of the Earth being at the center of the universe—it’s all here.

Right now it's only available in print. It has numerous images, and so is going to be more difficult to format for Kindle, so I'm delaying e-book versions for a while to focus on other writing projects.

Just Published - Apocalyptus Interruptus: Episode One

I just published the first installment of a new serial I'm going to be working on for the next half year or so.

Apocalyptus Interruptus is a black comedy about Satan deciding to call off the Apocalypse and repent. He's paired with an atheist bodyguard as he makes the rounds to plead his case, even as Christians and Satanists work together to make sure the End happens right on schedule, with or without Satan.

Right now I'm planning on publishing a new "episode" once a month.

I've had this in the works for a long time. It was designed as a television series, which I submitted as a project to Amazon Studios last year (who declined, of course). So I've got a decent number of episodes planned out already, and I know the end of the story. I decided to just jump in and try my hand writing and publishing it as a serial.

I'm also still working on House at the Center of the Worlds (I hate that title! - have to think of a better one) and Zombie Galaxy 2. HCW will probably be released around the end of next month (June), with Zombie Galaxy 2 following a month or so later. And in the meantime, more Apocalyptus episodes. I'm also working on a book titled Death to Einstein!, and a new book of religious-themed essays.

So lots of writing stuff going on right now. This is the most projects I've been working on simultaneously, ever.

Ask and Ye Shall Receive

About a year ago I wrote a post about selling fan fiction on Kindle:

http://scottonwriting.blogspot.com/2012/06/way-to-sell-fan-fiction-on-kindle.html

Apparently someone at Amazon listened, because now they're announcing Kindle Worlds:

As soon as Star Trek or some of my other sci-fi favorites come on board, I'm in!

Current Projects

I'm working on several concurrent writing projects right now.

One, which I'll be publishing in a few short days or a week, is a new collection of my poetry, titled Nuggets of Gold. I know the world is just clamoring for another book of my poetry (And yes, that is sarcasm).

The second is a new novel tentatively titled The House at the Center of the Worlds. I don't really know what genre it falls in. It's sort of a ghost story/haunted house/alternate worlds/romance novel, kind of a blending of Gothic horror, fantasy, and science fiction.

Third, I'm working on Zombie Galaxy 2, which will probably be titled Zombie Galaxy: Pandemic, but I'm not sure yet.

Nuggets of Gold will be published very soon. I'm shooting for June or July for both Zombie Galaxy 2 and House at the Center of the Worlds. Writing is well under way on both of the latter. But Zombie Galaxy 2 may take longer than that. I've got a new story line I'm thinking of adding to the book that will probably double its length. Not sure yet, though.

Further out, I have plans to write more Snowybrook Inn stories, a novel called Flames of the Sun which I've been putting off for far too long, and more Tales From the Big City. I'm probably going to be laid off from my day job in a month or so, and I plan to kick my writing into high gear at that time. Yes, I'm actually looking forward to being laid off :)
